Mission Description

This EU-funded project aims to advance the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) in Ethiopia, focusing on private-led value chain development to enhance intra-African trade, economic integration, sustainable growth, and job creation.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Leadership and Project Implementation
    • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of all project activities.
    • Manage and supervise the project team and ensure strong stakeholder relationships.
    • Oversee procurement and resource allocation.
    • Facilitate public-private partnerships to address trade barriers.
  2. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Oversight
    • Ensure the monitoring and evaluation framework aligns with project objectives.
    • Validate technical, financial, and administrative reports.
  3. Communication, Visibility, and Representation
    • Represent the project in high-level meetings and public events.
    • Manage external communications and stakeholder relations.
  4. Coordination with Headquarters, Country Office, and Donors
    • Maintain strategic liaison with Expertise France and other partners.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree in economics, finance, or related fields.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in project management and trade, including experience with donor-funded projects.
  • Skills:
    • Strong management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in English; knowledge of Amharic is an asset.
    • Expertise in budget management and financial tools.

Additional Information

  • Contract Duration: 12 months, with a possibility of renewal.
  • Start Date: As soon as possible.
