Job Overview
Position Title: Telecommunications Technician

Organizational Setting
The UNOAU strengthens the partnership between the United Nations and the African Union, focusing on peace and security. The Telecommunications Technician will work under the Field Technology Services (FTS) of the Administrative Support Section.
Key Responsibilities
- Radio Systems: Installation, maintenance, and training on various radio systems.
- Microwave Systems: Lead setup and commissioning of microwave radio systems.
- Telephony Systems: Oversee installation and maintenance of PABX and telephony systems.
- Satellite Communications: Manage installation and operation of satellite communications.
- Infrastructure: Develop and maintain communications cabling and infrastructure.
- Video Conferencing: Install and maintain VTC systems and ensure operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma required.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years in telecommunications, with 3 years at the international level. Experience in UN operations or similar organizations preferred.
- Languages: Proficiency in English required.
