Job Summary

The health consultant will support the implementation of Adolescent-Friendly Health Services (AFHS), Gender-Based Violence (GBV), and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) activities under the EU-funded project “Building Capacities and Restoring Essential Health Services (CARE4Health).” This role involves providing technical leadership and coordination for these services in conflict-affected areas of Ethiopia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance on AFHS, GBV, and MHPSS service packages, including protocols and job aids.
  • Develop a tracking framework to monitor progress in selected model districts.
  • Conduct field visits to assess service availability and adherence to Ministry of Health standards.
  • Institutionalize youth feedback mechanisms in collaboration with facilities and communities.
  • Support mid-term reviews and document project progress, challenges, and success stories.
  • Compile monthly briefs and quarterly reports on project activities.

Qualifications

  • Education: Advanced university degree in public health, family health, health policy, or related fields.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in public health, sexual reproductive health, GBV support, or MHPSS.
  • Skills: Strong analytical, communication, and report writing skills. Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of Amharic is an advantage.

  • High organizational and coordination skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Motivated team player with strong communication abilities.
