Job Overview
The Project Coordinator will report to the Executive Director and play a crucial role in both technical and administrative coordination of project activities. This senior position is responsible for ensuring EBCCF meets its donor and government obligations while supporting sustainable project implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Coordination: Support the Executive Director in developing innovative project initiatives, monitoring, and reporting within established timelines.
- Proposal Development: Prepare project proposals to secure financial resources aligned with the Forum’s objectives.
- Manual Preparation: Develop manuals on relevant thematic activities to enhance project sustainability.
- Partnership Development: Strengthen EBCCF’s position as a strategic partner to donors and implementers.
- Feasibility Studies: Conduct feasibility studies and negotiate with donors, government, and partners for project funding.
- Reporting: Lead the preparation of quarterly, biannual, and annual reports for donors and internal use, covering both activities and finances.
- Field Monitoring: Conduct field visits to project sites for technical support and to monitor progress.
- Project Evaluation: Regularly evaluate projects to ensure objectives are met and budgets are adhered to.
- Meeting Documentation: Take minutes during staff and board meetings.
- General Duties: Work efficiently during full working hours and undertake additional duties as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: Minimum MSc degree in Agrobiodiversity and Seed Systems, Biodiversity Management, Crop Breeding, Climate Smart Agriculture, or related fields with an Agronomy background.
- Experience: At least 7 years of relevant work experience.
- Skills:
- Strong project planning, budgeting, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and in a team.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
- Good knowledge of Excel for budget preparation and activity tracking.
- Experience in preparing and presenting PowerPoint presentations.
