About the Role
As a Community Development Facilitator, you will support Ethiopian coffee farmers in complying with the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). You will work closely with local stakeholders to promote sustainable agricultural practices and improve community livelihoods.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Implementation: Ensure timely execution of project activities at the Woreda level, collaborating with project teams and government partners.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate the active participation of community members, especially women, in project planning and execution.
- Training and Support: Identify training needs, develop training materials, and deliver capacity-building sessions for community-based organizations (CBOs) and unions.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Track project progress, identify challenges, and provide technical support to ensure effective implementation.
- Data Collection: Collaborate with senior project staff to design and implement data collection processes related to coffee farming.
- Compliance Support: Assist in developing traceability systems within the coffee marketing value chain to ensure EUDR compliance.
- Community Capacity Building: Coordinate workshops and training for beneficiaries and partners focused on EUDR compliance and coffee production quality.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare status reports, document best practices, and monitor the project’s impact on rural communities.
About You
Essential Qualifications:
- BSc in GIS, Forestry, Agriculture, Natural Resources Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with NGOs in forestry, natural resource management, or coffee production.
- Proficient in English and Affan Oromo (written and spoken).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Previous experience in rural settings and familiarity with community value chains.
- Knowledge of local languages.
- Familiarity with budget management and training facilitation.
