📢 Job Description
Wonchi IJA Eco Lodge, together with Ethiopian Skylight Hotel, is searching for a committed nurse who is qualified and passionate to deliver essential health services to their eco-lodge facility in Wonchi. A compassionate healthcare professional, committed to providing quality care in a hospitality and community setting, is well-suited for this full-time, on-site position.
The person selected will take responsibility for basic medical care, emergency response, and health monitoring for staff and guests in a remote, high-altitude environment.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
- Give the most basic of clinical nursing care to the employees and visitors of the lodge.
- Act quickly in medical emergencies and provide first aid or life-saving interventions as needed.
- Carry out the health assessment procedure regularly and keep the medical records confidential.
- Be in charge of the on-site clinic and medical supplies and make sure there is the proper hygiene and cleanliness together with the proper inventory.
- Please contact nearby health centers and hospitals for patient referrals, if necessary.
- Inform the employees about the health education and the preventive care practices.
- Observe the infection control and safety rules in accordance with the national health guidelines.
- Make a report of the health incidents and the trends to the management regularly.
✅ Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
- Educational Background: At least a Diploma in Nursing (10+3) or Level III TVET Certificate from a recognized institution. Those who have graduated from recognized colleges or universities in nursing are also allowed.
- Professional Certification: A valid Certificate of Competence (COC), which has to be issued by the Ethiopian Nurses and Midwives Association (ENMA), is a must.
- Experience: Applicants must have at least 2 years of relevant experience as a clinical nurse in a hospital, clinic, or similar setting.
- Age Requirement: The applicants have to be within the age of 18 to 35 (including 18 and 35) years.
- Skills & Attributes:
- Strong clinical and emergency response skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently in a remote location
- High level of integrity, empathy, and professionalism
- Willingness to live and work at Wonchi (high-altitude area)
