Functional Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Senior Portfolio Manager, the Lead Architect will be responsible for:
i) Technical Study and Design Development
- Prepare and revise design and drawings for new and existing buildings.
- Lead the preparation of proposals for new projects.
- Develop technical specifications and detailed BoQs for infrastructure projects.
- Coordinate with the UNOPS Infra team for design documents and construction permits.
ii) Procurement
- Develop technical bidding documents for infrastructure projects.
- Support procurement teams during pre-bid meetings.
- Conduct technical evaluations for contractor selection.
iii) Supervision and Monitoring
- Advise on project management and construction best practices.
- Generate regular project reports and updates.
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Social, and Environmental measures.

The Lead Architect will improve efficiency in architectural design delivery and enhance staff capacity through high-quality assessments and reporting.
Qualifications
Education:
- Master’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or relevant field.
- A Bachelor’s Degree may be considered with 2 additional years of experience.
- Professional Registration License (PAR) required.
Experience:
- 5 years with a Master’s Degree or 7 years with a Bachelor’s in architectural design.
- 5 years of experience in AutoCAD is required.
- 3 years of experience supervising civil engineering construction.
Language:
Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another UN official language is a plus.
