About SOS Children’s Villages Ethiopia:


SOS Children’s Villages Ethiopia is an international non-profit organization working to provide care and support for children who have lost parental care or are at risk of losing it. Established in 1974, it now operates programs across seven locations in Ethiopia in collaboration with international donors, the local government, and community organizations.

 

Position Summary:


The Location HR and Admin Manager is responsible for efficiently managing all human resource and administrative functions at their assigned program location. Reporting to the Location Program Director with technical oversight from the National Office HROD Manager, this role oversees staffing, performance management, compensation, training, employee relations, and general administrative services like procurement, facilities, transport, and security.

 

Key Responsibilities: Resources:

 

  • Develop and implement the location’s HR plan and budget
  • Manage full cycle recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding
  • Administer payroll, benefits, and statutory compliance
  • Oversee performance management and learning/development programs
  • Handle employee relations, grievances, and disciplinary issues
  • Maintain updated personnel records and HR information systems

Administration:

 

  • Manage procurement processes for goods/services
  • Oversee facilities, equipment, vehicles, and asset maintenance
  • Coordinate general administration like transport, security, utilities
  • Ensure compliance with policies, laws, and reporting requirements

Safeguarding:

 

  • Integrate child/youth safeguarding into all HR and admin activities
  • Conduct safeguarding training and promote a safe working environment
  • Ensure adherence to SOS safeguarding policies and procedures

Requirements:

 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Administration, Management or related field

 

Experience:

 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in HR roles
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience

 

Skills and Competencies:

 

  • Proficiency in HRIS, payroll, recruitment systems
  • Knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices
  • Strong analytical, organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in English and MS Office applications
