SOS Children’s Villages Ethiopia is an international non-governmental organization and a member of the SOS Children’s Villages International Federation. We have been providing humanitarian aid in Ethiopia since opening our first village in Mekelle in 1974. Today, we work across seven program locations, collaborating with international donors, local governments, and community organizations to ensure every child grows up with love, respect and security.
Why We Need You
We are seeking a dedicated Project Driver to join our youth empowerment project (STEP) team in Addis Ababa. As the Project Driver, you will play a crucial role in safely and efficiently transporting our project personnel, equipment, and materials to various sites. This position requires excellent driving skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Your Role and Responsibilities
As the Project Driver, your key duties will include:
- Carrying out all driving requirements as directed by the Manager of HR and Operations
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the vehicle and regularly checking the lights, indicators, brakes, tire pressure, oil, battery, and radiator, reporting any defects
- Driving safely at all times, obeying traffic rules, and keeping detailed trip logs
- Immediately reporting any accidents to the police and the Manager of HR and Operations
- Overseeing vehicle repairs and maintenance, including the annual inspection
- Ensuring all vehicle documents are properly maintained
- Performing other similar duties as assigned
Child Safeguarding
- Participate in child safeguarding awareness and capacity building trainings
- Support children and young people to understand child safeguarding risks and protection mechanisms
- Report any child safeguarding concerns, suspicions, or incidents immediately following the proper procedures
Job Requirements
- Certificate of technical training or at least 10th grade education
- Driving License (grade 3-5)
- 4 years of relevant experience
- Flexibility and openness to learn
- Ability to work under pressure
- Strong interpersonal skills and high integrity
- Experience working in NGOs or international organizations is an advantage
- Good knowledge of logistics and minor vehicle repair
