POSITION OVERVIEW
The Livelihoods & Food Security (LFS) Project Officer is responsible for implementing the delegated LFS project portfolio in the Maitsebri area. The officer will work closely with the LFS Coordinator to ensure the timely and high-quality execution of all LFS activities, while also building the capacity of the local project team. This is a 5-month position with approximately 70% travel required.

RESPONSIBILITIES
General Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to all NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
  • Prepare and submit regular status reports as required by management
  • Promote ideas for technical improvements to LFS programming
  • Provide regular activity progress reports to the LFS Coordinator
  • Ensure LFS projects reach the most vulnerable beneficiaries
  • Build capacity of project assistants and field monitors
  • Liaise and collaborate with local authorities and other stakeholders

Project Implementation:

  • Supervise implementation of all LFS activities with technical support from the LFS Coordinator
  • Develop detailed monthly implementation plans in coordination with the LFS team
  • Provide day-to-day guidance to ensure project activities align with NRC and donor requirements
  • Coordinate closely with support departments (finance, logistics, HR, etc.) to facilitate smooth project operations
  • Ensure security protocols are followed for all staff movements and activities
  • Consolidate weekly and monthly activity progress reports
  • Monitor partner, government, and service provider implementation of NRC LFS activities
  • Identify training needs and organize/facilitate capacity building events as needed

Monitoring & Evaluation:

  • Collaborate with the M&E team to ensure timely execution of all M&E activities
  • Regularly visit project sites to monitor implementation and support field teams
  • Collect and analyze data on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agro-economics, economics, social sciences, or other relevant field
  • Proven experience as a Livelihoods Officer in a humanitarian/recovery context
  • Previous work experience in complex and volatile contexts
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Independent, creative, and computer literate
  • Excellent English language skills
  • Knowledge of the local context and region
