Mission Description

This EU-funded project aims to support the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) in Ethiopia, focusing on private-led value chain development to enhance intra-African trade, economic integration, and job creation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Assistance and Activity Implementation
   • Provide technical support for project activities.
   • Coordinate day-to-day project operations.
   • Draft strategic concept notes and prepare Terms of Reference (ToRs).
   • Ensure quality control of project deliverables and adherence to implementation plans.
2. Monitoring and Evaluation Support
   • Collect and analyze data to strengthen project M&E functions.
   • Collaborate with team members to assess project impact.
3. Stakeholder Engagement
   • Facilitate communication with relevant stakeholders and support during events.
4. Cross-Cutting Support
   • Assist in utilizing project tools for efficient delivery.
   • Lead project coordination activities and liaise with the Country Office Support Unit.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Education: University degree (Master’s preferred) in Economics, Development, or Project Management.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years in externally funded projects; experience with M&E is an asset.
• Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Fluency in English and Amharic; French is a plus.

Employment Conditions

• Contract Type: Fixed-term contract under local law, renewable based on performance and budget.
• Start Date: January 2026.
