Background

The DRC is an independent international NGO dedicated to promoting durable solutions for refugees and displaced populations, working across 40+ countries.

Overall Purpose of the Role

The Consortium Manager will lead a consortium of partners implementing a project aimed at supporting resilience in regions affected by conflict-induced displacement in Ethiopia and Sudan. The role involves strategic direction, project oversight, and fostering relationships with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership & Management: Oversee project delivery, ensuring alignment with objectives and compliance with donor requirements.
• Steering Committee Engagement: Serve as secretary to the committee, facilitating collaboration among partners.
• Risk Management: Proactively manage project risks and ensure informed decision-making among stakeholders.
• Stakeholder Relations: Represent the project in various meetings, ensuring effective communication and relationship management.
• Safety and Security: Implement and adapt safety plans as conditions change.

Qualifications

• Education: Degree in political science, international development, social work, humanitarian law, or related field.
• Experience:
  • 7+ years in humanitarian/development aid, with at least 3 years in people management.
  • Experience managing multi-partner programs in complex environments.
  • Expertise in inclusive systems, health, protection, or resilience programming.
• Language Skills: Proficiency in English; knowledge of Amharic, Arabic, or French is a plus.

• Salary: Based on DRC’s Terms of Employment for Staff, Employment band F – Management.

• Reporting Line: Operations Director.
