Functional Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Senior Portfolio Manager, the Community Mobilization Senior Officer will:

·       Participate in discussions on Tigray Region Recovery and promote UNOPS solutions.

·       Engage in cluster/technical meetings to identify priorities.

·       Present UNOPS services to stakeholders and local authorities.

·       Facilitate community discussions to identify intervention priorities.

·       Oversee the integration of community-based renovation programs.

·       Lead a team of junior engineers and interns to assess damaged facilities.

·       Ensure the application of participatory and gender-responsive approaches.

·       Support capacity development through training and coaching.

·       Provide technical guidance for data assessment and monitoring.

·       Liaise with partners to ensure timely program implementation.

·       The effectiveness of the Community Mobilization Senior Officer will enhance the program’s performance, contributing to the organization’s credibility as a service provider in project management.

Qualifications

Education:

·       Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, Management, or related fields.

·       A Bachelor’s Degree with two additional years of experience may substitute for a Master’s.

Experience:

·       2 years of relevant experience for Master’s degree holders.

·       4 years of relevant experience for Bachelor’s degree holders in project coordination, business development, and stakeholder management.

Language: Fluency in English is required; knowledge of another UN official language is an asset.
