Background
The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is seeking a Tour Coordinator to oversee and enhance the guided-tour operations in Addis Ababa. This role is essential for ensuring an exceptional visitor experience while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism.
Functional Responsibilities
The Tour Coordinator will be responsible for:
· Scheduling Tours: Assign and schedule tours and special duties for tour guides, ensuring smooth daily operations.
· Daily Coordination: Perform daily coordinating functions and provide briefings to tour guides.
· Special Tours: Coordinate and assign special tours, including VIPs and UN Kids tours, and manage tours outside regular hours.
· Professional Standards: Ensure adherence to operational guidelines and maintain professionalism among tour guides.
· Visitor Engagement: Distribute and collect headphones for tours and provide general information about the guided tour operation.
· Market Research: Encourage tour guides to gather valuable feedback from visitors to improve services and develop marketing strategies.
· Scheduling Management: Create and manage weekly schedules for tour guides, ensuring fair workload distribution.
· Feedback Reporting: Provide feedback to the Marketing Officer based on visitor comments and experiences.

Education/Experience/Language Requirements
Education:
· High school diploma or equivalent is required.
· Bachelor’s Degree in communications, journalism, public relations, business administration, marketing, social sciences, international relations, or a related field is an asset.
· Special training in data analysis and scheduling is desirable.
Experience:
Minimum of six (6) years of progressive experience in briefings, marketing, or data analysis-related functions is required.
Experience in diverse, multicultural environments is a strong asset.
Language:
· Fluency in written, reading, and spoken English is required.
· Knowledge of another official UN language and the local language (Amharic) is an asset.
