Job Description:
World Vision, a leading global humanitarian organization with over 70 years of experience, is seeking a talented People & Culture (P&C) Business Partner/Coordinator to join our team in Gambella. In this crucial role, you will partner with our Emergency response and Grants leadership to support strategic business objectives and execute our HR Transformation Strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Partnership:
- Act as a strategic advisor and thought partner for Emergency and Grants leaders, helping to identify and address people-related priorities and needs
- Assist with strategic planning, workforce forecasting, and implementing a range of HR solutions, including talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, learning and development, and more
- Collaborate with the Emergency Grants acquisition and management teams, supporting recruitment, onboarding, and staff care processes
- Maintain a deep understanding of the client’s department, strategy, and people-related challenges
Employee Champion:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees, managers, and leaders in the assigned business units
- Provide guidance, counseling, and training on employee relations issues, including hiring, terminations, promotions, and performance reviews
- Direct employees to the appropriate P&C services and handle escalated issues from the P&C Help Desk
Leadership and Coaching:
- Closely monitor and report on HR metrics and matrices
- Work with Emergency and Grants Business Partners to ensure understanding and adherence to P&C policies, processes, and systems
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in HR Business Partnering or a related specialist role, preferably in an INGO with field operations experience
- Strong consultation, influencing, and client relationship skills
- Proficient in coaching, mediation, facilitation, communication, analysis, and problem-solving
- Thorough knowledge of HR management practices and employment legislation
- Excellent written and oral English and Amharic communication skills
- Relevant bachelor’s degree, with a preference for an MBA, MPM, or MPA
- Professional HR membership, HEAT/SRMT training, Enterprise Risk Management training, and certifications in trauma counseling and adult safeguarding
