- Remuneration: US$ 110,951.49 (internationally recruited staff) / US$ 92,867.97 (locally recruited staff)
Purpose of Job
The Lead Warehouse and Distribution Officer holds a high-ranking position and is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership to Africa CDC’s warehousing and distribution functions, as well as managing the medical and emergency supplies essential for the pandemic response, ensuring their timely and efficient delivery to Member States and partners.
Main Functions
- Direct warehouse operations, making sure they are in compliance with supply chain frameworks and that supplies reach their destination on time.
- Managing a multidisciplinary team and motivating performance through training.
- Plan and implement all activities related to logistics, such as forecasting and last-mile delivery, not only for routine operations but also in case of emergencies.
Specific Responsibilities
- Specific responsibilities include the creation and execution of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure seamless warehouse operations.
- The warehouse management system (WMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) tools are utilized to monitor the inventory.
- Following up on KPIs and using data analytics for making the best decisions.
- Collaborate with both internal and external partners to enhance logistics and distribution processes.
Academic Requirements
- A Master’s Degree in health supply chain management or a similar field with a minimum of 10 years of experience (3 years at supervisory level) OR
- A bachelor’s degree in health supply chain management or a similar field with at least 12 years of experience, including 3 years at a supervisory level, is also required.
